Culver Public Market

Culver City, California

Culver City, CA The Culver Public Market is located on 2 city blocks where it will promote pedestrian activity, provide a new destination where residents, employees, and visitors can shop, dine, and will complement and protect the surrounding neighborhood.

The project is an initiative of the City of Culver City and Regency Centers combining a market hall with associated retail in an underserved area of the city.

The project is influenced by market halls around the world, including recent market halls such as JRDV’s own San Pedro Market in San Jose, as well as Rockridge Market Hall in Oakland, the Oxbow Public Market in Napa, and the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco.

The City and Developer’s challenge was to create a hip, food-oriented retail project mostly tucked beneath a 3-level parking structure. The resulting industrial-chic design will energize the corner of Washington Boulevard and Centinela Avenue when it opens in 2020.
