Parcel 4

Oakland, California

DESCRIPTION:

JRDV was the design lead for this critical urban site which was planned to become a hotel, residential, retail centerpiece of the revitalized Uptown Neighborhood in Oakland. The design represents an innovative integration of modernism with a traditionalist approach to the street fabric of this historic neighborhood.

The design branding is an intentional collision of global modernism and local contextual roots, which extends the Uptown culture of new economy companies and a demographic desperate for Urban-Cultural-“Roots”. The project represents JRDV’s continued leadership in creating sophisticated high density urban projects that resolve the complex economic, technical and cultural parameters of new urban development.
