Tunis New City

Tunis, Tunisia

Tunis New City is a master plan intended to infuse the world’s most significant New Democracy with modern uses for the purpose of better integrating Tunisia into the world economy.

The project encompasses over 40 million GSF of new uses including Retail, Business Services, Research and Development, Health Care, Education, Arts and Entertainment, Recreation and Housing. Tunis New City connects new uses by enhancing and extending the regional tram.

The goal was to benefit all of Tunisia by creating a thriving “Busy” place with the most dynamic mix of uses, maximizing job creation, and promoting a healthy lifestyle sense of community. Furthermore, the project intends to establish the modern institutions needed for economic and societal growth including a major hospital and international quality public university that will foster business partnerships, investments and jobs with global companies.

The project is designed to be uniquely Tunisian in character, while embracing the Future, emphasizing pedestrian scale and intimacy and reinforcing a Retail Town Center armature.
